This summer, RÉGÎM offered all of its clients the special opportunity to use its regular public transit free of charge from July 1 to August 31.

RÉGÎM is pleased to announce that this initiative was a success. Despite the pandemic, summer business was brisk. In July and August 2020, there were 8,196 boardings compared with 10,678 for the same period in 2019.

“We’re happy that our clients jumped on the bandwagon. Given the pandemic, we were expecting numbers to plummet. We’re satisfied that despite the very particular situation in 2020, there were 8,196 boardings in July and August just the same. We’re proud to say that the passengers respected the rules that we put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19,” declared Marie-Andrée Pichette, RÉGÎM’s General Manager.

“Our region was highly sought after this summer and tourists were able to enjoy RÉGÎM’s free public transit. I’m sure that this will enhance the visibility of our services beyond our region. We also hope that our local clients liked this offer and develop the habit of using public transit even more,” said Daniel Côté, RÉGÎM’s President, the Prefect of La Côte-de-Gaspé RCM and the Mayor of Gaspé.
